Saturday Afternoon Psalms- Women Only

John 15:4,5 Jesus said, "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing."
To encourage this abiding in Christ, we are having a women's Saturday Afternoon Psalm and prayer time from 3-4 PM, meeting here at First EFC.
Open to all women. No homework.
Come, if God leads you.

NEW Equipping Class

A new Equipping Class entitled "How (Not) to Read the Bible," a six-session video-based study from RightNow Media that will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, July 19. Each session is based on a guide written by Dan Kimball on how to make sense of misunderstood, difficult, and disturbing Bible passages related to women, science, violence, slavery, and world religions. Join us each Sunday for lessons featuring short videos filled with stories, visual illustrations, and memes reflecting popular cultural objections, followed by a stimulating time of discussion.
We also encourage you to listen to a Moody Radio program called The Land And The Book.  It often provides very helpful insights regarding God's involvement in Israel, as well as how to reach out to our friends with the Gospel.  Check out Moody Radio at 89.7 at noon on Saturdays, or 9 p.m. on Sundays.  To listen at your convenience, get the Moody Radio app (free) and at the bottom click on "Discover."  Under that, scroll down until you see "The Land And The Book."
May we all continue to grow in all spiritual wisdom and understanding.  Col. 1:10-14

Outreach Training with Showers of Grace

Showers of Grace will be hosting another Outreach Training for our volunteers August 12-September 16.

One of our goals with the baby showers is to connect our volunteers with the moms we serve so our volunteers can follow up with these families and build relationships with them. Our moms have so many needs, but the biggest is many of them do not know the Lord and have no one in their lives to teach them the Gospel while supporting them through the trials of life.

Our training will prepare you for how to share the Gospel, how to conduct an introductory Bible study, how to provide spiritual support during a crisis, and how to have appropriate boundaries while working with families in need.

Training information:
--6 weekly sessions
--Wednesdays 2-4 pm
--August 12-September 16
--Free for Showers of Grace volunteers ($20 suggest donation for others)
--Childcare should be available

Feel free to share the training flyer and this email with anyone who is interested in ministering to others better!
